Requirements

Please confirm you are running " + VBO_I18N_KEY + " build 5.0.3.1033 prior to installing this Cumulative Patch. You can check this under Help and Support > About in the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 console. After upgrading, your build version will change to 5.0.3.1035.

Resolved Issues

As a result of ongoing R&D effort and in response to customer feedback, Cumulative Patch KB4222 provides a set of bug fixes, the most significant of which are listed below:

General

  • Under specific conditions, the retention policy may mistakenly remove SharePoint team site backup data or Microsoft Teams backup data from an object storage repository using snapshot-based retention.

This issue only occurs in the scenarios described below when using a repository with the following configuration:
    • The Repository is extended to any type of object storage.
    • The Repository uses snapshot-based retention.

    Scenario 1:
    • A team and its corresponding SharePoint team site are processed as different objects by the same backup job. This scenario also applies to an entire organization backup.
    • Either a team or a corresponding team site is then removed from processing.

    Scenario 2:
    • A team and its corresponding SharePoint team site are processed as different objects by different backup jobs targeted to the same object storage repository.
    • Either a team or a corresponding team site is then removed from the corresponding job.

    Scenario 3:
    • A team object has been backed up for a certain period. After which, a corresponding team site has been added to the same backup job.

Backup

  • Under certain conditions, the backup of group mailboxes may hang with no data processed although proxy threads are allocated. Full resolution may require certain proxy config changes, contact Veeam  Support for assistance.

Restore

  • In Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams, a team or a team channel restore may fail with the “Access denied” error.
  • Under certain conditions, in Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SharePoint, browsing a backup may fail with the timeout error.
  • Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange export to PST may fail with the “System.OutOfMemoryException” error.

RESTful API

  • Under certain conditions, the (GET) /v5/Jobs/{jobId}/SelectedItems request shows incorrect data for the “locationType” value.

Object storage repositories

  • Synchronization of a repository extended to S3 compatible object storage may fail with the "Synchronization failed: Blob files cannot be updated" error.
