If your Veeam Backup & Replication installation is connected to a Veeam Cloud Service Provider, contact your Service Provider before upgrading to ensure that the intended upgrade will not break compatibility.
A tenant cannot be on a newer version of Veeam Backup & Replication than the Service Provider.
If you are using a version of Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) that has reached its End of Support (EOS) and cannot be directly upgraded to a supported version, you will need to install a new instance of VBR using the latest VBR version.
Clarification: If the Upgrade Instructions in the User Guide for a currently supported version of VBR outlines an upgrade path from an older, unsupported version, this upgrade pathway is still considered supported.
