Reading, United Kingdom, January 18th, 2010 – Veeam Software, award-winning provider of systems management tools for VMware virtual datacenter environments, has announced the official launch of its UK partner programme. The Veeam ProPartner Programme is designed to help the channel grow margins by delivering incremental revenue on top of every sale of VMware. In conjunction with the launch of the partner programme, Veeam also unveiled its new Veeam ProPartner Portal.
“70% of global servers have yet to be virtualised. This highlights that virtualisation will remain at the top of the IT agenda, especially as we come out of the recession where it helps businesses do more with less. Meanwhile, IT departments’ insatiable appetite for deploying thousands of virtual machines to handle a range of tasks presents an entirely new risk to businesses,” said Kevin Collins, Solutions Development manager at Magirus, distributor for Veeam and one of Europe’s leading IT solution providers. “In a short space of time, Veeam has been able to demonstrate the significant value its portfolio of management tools bring to control the huge virtual infrastructures that businesses are creating with this technology.”
Since launching in the UK in November 2008, the company has recruited 134 channel partners, which has resulted in the need for a formalised structure to its partner engagements. Veeam ProPartner offers a three-tier channel programme: Gold, Silver and Basic. In conjunction with the Veeam ProPartner Portal, resellers have access to a variety of resources such as sales and marketing tools and documents, new case studies and more. Veeam Gold, Silver and Basic ProPartners can also see special offers and programmes open only to them. Upcoming events and training are listed by local geographic area, to save partners time in quickly identifying opportunities of most interest to them.
Paul Eccleston, Group Director at SCHD added: “The channel opportunity around virtualisation continues to expand. For example, the success of new IT models such as Cloud Computing and Software-as-a-Service is underpinned by virtualisation, as without this technology the vast infrastructures needed to support these environments would be unsustainable. Resellers that are helping their customers comprehend and move to these models must again ensure they understand the importance of good management practices that are supported with strong tools. By working with Veeam, partners can be certain they have all the resources needed to help customers adopt these models and thus capitalise on the revenue opportunity.”
The Veeam ProPartner portal offers essential resources to help partners build their virtualisation practice, all in one convenient location. Not-For-Resale (NFR) license keys, multi-language sales support and marketing promotional materials are available there, as well as information about current incentive programs and aggressive discounts to help them make the most of every VMware engagement. Resellers can also go to the ProPartner portal to register large opportunities with Veeam and attract additional Deal Registration discounts to ensure they are protected in a deal.
“We’re extremely pleased with the progress of our UK channel relationships,” said Phil King, UK Channel Manager, Veeam Software. “There are some fantastic new opportunities on the horizon for our reseller partners, which is why our new ProPartner programme has been designed to ensure virtualisation remains a viable revenue stream long into the future.”
