Release Information for Veeam Backup for AWS 3.0 patches

You can check your build number under Configuration | Support Information | About | Server version by clicking the gear icon at the top-right corner of the main menu in Veeam Backup for AWS. After installing Veeam Backup for AWS v3 Patch 1, your build version will be 3.1.0.57.

As a result of ongoing R&D effort and in response to customer feedback, patch 1 provides a set of enhancements and bug fixes, the most significant of which are listed below.

• Support for GP3 volumes
• Instances configured with UEFI boot-mode are now supported

• VPC backup of load balancers fails with error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

• VPC backups of gateway load balancers fail with error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

• VPC restores may fail if there was a Lambda target group in the infrastructure

• Backing up a large chain of instances fails due to OOM errors

• Veeam Backup for AWS appliance may become unresponsive while creating initial full backups of large instances

• Veeam Backup for AWS appliance may run out of space due to log files filling up the root volume

• VPC backup with a copy to an S3 repository can result in the following error message. Error: 23505: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "cloud_resources_resource_id_key" (Npgsql.PostgresException)

• VPC backup fails with error: "Cannot have more than 20 resources described"

• When performing granular VPC restore, certain items may be missing from the wizard

• Deploying Veeam Backup for AWS using Veeam Backup & Replication may result in the appliance hanging on installing updates

• Veeam Backup for AWS GUI will now correctly reflect changes made via Veeam Backup & Replication GUI

To upgrade existing installation, do the following:

1. In the Veeam Backup for AWS configuration menu on the left, click Support Information.
2. On the Updates tab, click Check and view updates. The Veeam Updater page will open.
3. On the Veeam Updater page, in the Updates are available for this system section, select check box next to the Veeam update package.
4. In the Choose action section, specify the following settings:
   1. Select the Install updates now option.
   2. Select the Reboot automatically after install if required check box to allow Veeam Backup for AWS to reboot the backup server if needed.
   3. Click Install Updates Now.

After installing Veeam Backup for AWS v3, your build version will be 3.1.0.57.
