Missing Data in SCOM Top Dashboards

Challenge

While Veeam Collector works fine, and performance data are showing up in SCOM performance views, the Top dashboards are empty.

  • Top Clusters
  • Top Datastores
  • Top Hosts
  • Top Virtual Machines

Cause

The Top dashboards are populated with data from the Data Warehouse database, unlike the performance views which are based on the data stored in OperationsManager database. 

Solution

Verify that performance metrics are present in the Data Warehouse.

  1. Open the Reporting pane in the SCOM console.
  2. Use the Veeam VMware Performance History report relevant to the Top dashboard in question.

    Example: If data is missing in the Top Hosts view, check the "vSphere Hosts CPU Performance History" and "vSphere Hosts Memory Performance History" reports.

Note: Data can take up to 48 hours to be fully inserted into the Data Warehouse after importing the Management Pack (MP).

If sufficient time has passed since the Veeam Management Pack installation and data is still missing in the Data Warehouse, please open a case with Veeam Support.
