Challenge

You do not receive information about specific alerts regarding host hardware sensors quick enough for your environment, both in the Veeam ONE Monitor GUI and e-mails.  For example, a host goes offline and you do not get any alerts for 20 minutes. Or there is another delayed alerting between vCenter Server, or standalone host, and Veeam ONE Monitor.

Cause

Collection interval for host hardware sensor alerts is set to 30 minutes. If problems occur within this time interval, before data is collected, you can get delayed alerts.

Solution

To resolve the issue, follow the next steps:
  1. On the Veeam ONE Server machine, change the collection interval in the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam ONE Monitor\Service
    Create a new DWORD value with the following properties:
    Name = HostRuntimeInfoUpdateInterval
    Base = Decimal
    Value = XXX, where XXX is the required timeout in seconds.

  2. Once you change the value, restart Veeam ONE Monitor Service.

  3. Perform the necessary tests to make sure you are getting alerts in a timely manner in your environment.
