BAAR, Switzerland, October 29, 2013: Veeam Software, innovative provider of backup, replication and virtualization management solutions for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, announced today that Ratmir Timashev, CEO, was named one of CRN’s Top 25 Innovators of 2013 as a part of CRN’s Top 100 Executives list. This annual list salutes the most influential, innovative, and game-changing channel executives in North America.
The Top 100 Executives list is based on ongoing feedback throughout the year from solution providers, with rankings based on channel influence, effectiveness and visibility, along with business and sales impact. Final selections were made by a panel of CRN editors. Among the criteria considered were channel sales volume, channel investment and resources, channel advocacy and visibility, and performance in The Channel Company research projects including the Annual Report Card and Channel Champions.
“Our goal of becoming a $1 billion company in the next five years requires the full support of not only our entire Veeam team, but especially from our partners in order for us to achieve this aggressive growth,“ said Timashev. “Today, we have over 20,000 ProPartners worldwide committed to selling Modern Data Protection. As we continue to gain industry market share and leverage our ‘best of breed’ enterprise backup solutions for virtualization and the cloud, we’ll be adding new training and certification programs to create a more empowered and enabled channel ecosystem.”
“Each individual featured on CRN’s Top 100 Executives list has shown an unwavering commitment to the IT channel and serves as an example to the industry at large of how to be a successful leader, innovator and influencer,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company.
Timashev possesses a rare combination of proven business savvy, forward-looking technical knowledge and market vision. As president and CEO of Veeam Software, Ratmir brings to bear more than a decade of entrepreneurial experience building, advising and investing in successful technology companies.
In 1997, he founded Aelita Software, provider of award-winning Windows Server systems management software. Quest Software acquired Aelita in 2004, and after ensuring the successful continuation of Aelita’s products and strategy at Quest, Ratmir founded Veeam Software to provide similar systems management solutions for virtualized server infrastructures.
Ratmir earned a master's degree in Chemical Physics from the Ohio State University in 1995. He continues to share his knowledge and ideas to fuel innovative IT solutions around the world.
