London, UK: October 2nd 2015: Veeam Software, the innovative provider of solutions that deliver Availability for the Modern Data Center has strengthened its EMEA leadership team as it continues on its path to be a $1 billion revenue business by 2018.
Richard Agnew joins Veeam as North West EMEA VP and will be based in the UK, seeking to continue strong regional growth and to ensure that organisations across the UK and South Africa can benefit from the Always-On Business. Agnew joins Veeam from virtual computing environment company VCE, where he served as Regional Director for its UK & Ireland business. He has previously held leadership posts at NetApp, Decru and EMC.
“Richard’s appointment is a real coup for Veeam,” says Olivier Robinne, Vice President EMEA of Veeam. “He brings a solid history of success as a sales leader. With a focus on strict sales discipline and rigor, he also has significant expertise in how to operationalise, scale and manage a rapidly growing technology company like Veeam. We know from our enterprise customers that legacy backup solutions are no longer enough in an Always-On world. Richard will play a key role in helping deliver the Veeam availability solutions they are seeking.”
Veeam recently announced record Q2 results globally, driven by a 64 percent increase in the enterprise sector and demand for availability solutions, a growth area that Agnew will continue to drive across the U.K. and South Africa.
Mark Johnson joins Veeam to lead its UK&I channel business. Johnson comes with over 20 years of channel leadership experience both in the UK and across EMEA, and joins from CommVault, where he led the company’s channel operations.
Since entering the UK in 2008, Veeam has operated 100% through the channel. The company’s UK&I strategy is simple: to use Veeam’s expert knowledge to give its more than 2,270 UK and Ireland ProPartners access to products and services that enable them to drive new business and revenue streams to address the market for data availability. In the UK and Ireland the total number of Veeam customers has reached more than 11,450, with the region recording 31% revenue growth in Q2 2015 compared to Q2 2014.
“The relationships and partnerships that Mark has developed over his career will be a valuable asset in helping drive forward the strong channel growth we are seeing in the UK & Ireland,” says Robinne. “The channel is a crucial component of Veeam’s business model, and it’s great that Veeam has been able to secure Mark’s services to develop even greater sales and ProPartner relationships”.
In the past 12 months, Veeam has expanded its product compatibility with major technology vendors and alliances such as NetApp, EMC, Cisco, HP, Microsoft and VMWare, ensuring that Veeam’s ProPartners can give enterprises the ability to leverage all of their IT assets to provide the highest possible level of IT availability. Veeam offers the channel an opportunity to generate additional revenue and margin by providing complementary solutions that are easy to deploy.
Veeam constantly seeks to enhance the specialist tools and training that its partners receive, driven through the Veeam ProPartner Programme.
About Veeam Software
Veeam recognizes the new challenges companies across the globe face in enabling the Always-On Business, a business that must operate 24/7/365. To address this, Veeam has pioneered a new market of Availability for the Modern Data Center. Unlike “Legacy Backup” solutions which provide recovery time (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) of hours or days, Veeam helps organizations meet recovery time and point objectives (RTPO) of less than 15 minutes for all applications and data. This is achieved through a fundamentally new kind of solution that delivers high-speed recovery, data loss avoidance, verified protection, leveraged data and complete visibility. Veeam Availability Suite, which includes Veeam Backup & Replication, leverages virtualization, storage, and cloud technologies that enable the modern data center to help organizations save time, mitigate risks, and dramatically reduce capital and operational costs.
Founded in 2006, Veeam currently has 33,000 ProPartners and more than 157,000 customers worldwide. Veeam’s global headquarters are located in Baar, Switzerland, and the company has offices throughout the world. To learn more, visit http://www.veeam.com.
