Columbus, Ohio, March 25, 2009 — Veeam Software, award-winning provider of systems management tools for VMware virtual datacenter environments, is honored to be named a Dell ISV Basic Certified Partner, and to have its Management Pack for VMware certified as part of the Dell ISV Partner Program. This certification means that Dell customers worldwide can be assured that the Veeam Management Pack for VMware has passed rigorous testing and has met Dell standards for integration of Dell OpenManage systems management functionality. In addition, customers will soon be able to license Veeam products through the Dell S&P (Software and Peripherals).
"The Dell ISV Partner Program is focused on simplifying the management of disparate infrastructure platforms, applications and IT services," said Sally Stevens, Director, Platform Marketing, Dell Product Group. "As an ISV Basic Certified Partner, Veeam Software helps to provide seamless integration of Dell OpenManage systems management functionality within the Veeam/nworks Management Pack for VMware for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager to enhance the manageability of Dell platforms and optimize Dell Services. Dell has validated this functionality and certifies that the implementation performs to Dell standards. Veeam Software and Dell share a mutual commitment to deliver exceptional value to customers. Together we provide solutions that help transform the way customers deploy, utilize and experience technology."
"We are very happy to have achieved this status with Dell, and feel it is a testimony to the strong value proposition our Management Pack for VMware offers to Dell customers," said Ratmir Timashev, Veeam president and CEO. "Manageability across platforms is a key initiative for Dell, and helping customers best monitor, manage and recover their VMware infrastructure is our focus. Today’s announcement highlights the intersection of these goals to benefit our mutual customers."
The Veeam/nworks Management Pack for VMware enables end-to-end monitoring from ESX Servers to applications running inside virtual machines – all from the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager or MOM 2005 console. The Veeam Management Pack does not require agent software on ESX hosts, which eliminates any risk of agent software impacting ESX availability. Because the Management Pack uses the VMware API, ESXi is fully supported.
The Management Pack provides access to 300 VMware-specific metrics, events and properties – data like CPU, memory, disk and network utilization by host and guest, as well as hardware sensor CIM/SMASH data. It also provides access to VMware-specific health and performance metrics like CPU % Ready and Balloon Memory, and can provide composite information around VMware clusters and resource pools.
