Requirements

The Veeam Backup for Red Hat Virtualization 3a Plug-In may be used as part of a new deployment or to upgrade an existing Veeam Backup for Red Hat Virtualization Plug-In running versions 2.x - 3.x.

After installing the Veeam Backup for Red Hat Virtualization 3a Plug-In, the deployed/upgraded RHV Backup Proxy appliance's build number will be 3.0.1.855.
 

Environment Requirements:

  • Veeam Backup & Replication 12 (build 12.0.0.1420) or newer.
  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.4 SP1 or higher.
  • DNS resolution of Veeam Backup & Replication server, Veeam Backup for Red Hat Virtualization server, Red Hat Virtualization manager (oVirt), and all RHEV hosts.

Resolved Issues

  • Backup fails with the error:
    Invalid parameter. UnchangedAreaSize == 0
    
  • Authentication to Red Hat Virtualization Cluster fails if the password contains an ampersand ( & ) symbol.
  • Newly deployed proxy stuck in "Out of Date" state after upgrade from repository, requiring the administrator to perform manual proxy rescan to reset status.
  • An underlying communication failure during a VM restore causes the restore to display the error:
    object reference not set to an instance of an object
