Veeam recently announced the winners of its Veeam Innovation Awards (VIAs) as part of our annual VeeamON conference. Each year, customers and partners are nominated over several weeks in the fall, after which a judging panel curates around 100 nominations. This year, we are pleased to celebrate six VIA recipients, including three service providers, two technology vendors, and a consulting reseller.
Check out all the VIA recipients here.
Here are the 2024 recipients:
ExaGrid, a long-time Veeam partner offering Tiered Backup Storage, was awarded a VIA for its cyber resiliency capabilities. ExaGrid provides a tiered air gap due to its non-network-facing repository with immutable data objects that protect against destruction by bad actors, and a delayed delete policy called Retention Time-Lock to provide restorable data during cyber recoveries.
Opti9, a Platinum Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP), was given their second VIA for their capability to remotely manage hundreds of instances of Veeam Backup & Replication across a diverse enterprise network around the world. This remote capability won the client’s business over their competitors by using management methods previously undeveloped before Opti9.
Probax, a Platinum Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP), received their third VIA for their MSP Backup SaaS offering. Probax is a backup management platform that enables managed service providers — especially those that serve small to midsized organizations — to simplify the enterprise-grade power of Veeam Data Platform. With Probax MSP Backup, Veeam Partners can deploy Veeam-powered solutions through automation into their customers’ environments in under two minutes of engineering time, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
virtualDCS, a Platinum Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP), was decorated with its second VIA for its innovative approach to Microsoft Entra ID protection, as part of its new CloudCover Guardian for Azure service which protects 250+ configurations within a Microsoft 365 tenancy. CloudCover Services leverages Veeam technologies to protect everything from SaaS solutions (including Microsoft 365) to servers and Kubernetes.
Wasabi, a long-time Veeam partner for cloud-based protection storage, was selected for a VIA for its cyber resiliency solutions. Wasabi’s secure cloud storage, featuring free egress and API calls, empowers customers to conduct economical backup tests. Wasabi’s latest multi-user authorization capabilities fortify accounts against accidental or malicious deletions, when combined with Veeam’s Four-eyes security, offering customers unparalleled protection.
Zivaro, a trusted Veeam reseller, received its VIA for its support of a large healthcare system and their quest to become cyber resilient. Zivaro discerned that the hospital network had been over-sold by a Veeam competitor and was not protected against cyberattacks — namely that immutable storage was not actually functioning despite the vendor’s promises that it was. Zivaro led the initiative to replace the software with Veeam and in the process, deployed immutability and other Veeam mechanisms to ensure that the healthcare provider would be able to heal its own IT, so that its practitioners would be able to heal their patients.
Thank you to all those that were nominated or applied for a VIA this year and congratulations again to our most recent VIA recipients!
