The Passion to Succeed and Give Back

It was announced this week that Veeam’s co-founder Ratmir Timashev donated $17M to The Ohio State University, the largest individual or foundation contribution to the College of Arts & Sciences in the school’s history. The donation will support construction of a new music building named the Timashev Family Music Building. It will also support the renovation of Celeste Laboratory of Chemistry and create endowed scholarships for Arts and Sciences students.

A ’96 graduate of The Ohio State University, Ratmir has always been very vocal about his appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity the university gave to him to not only earn a post-graduate degree, but also for the experiences that defined his career and life. From international student to successful technology entrepreneur, Ratmir says it’s his “privilege and honor to support Ohio State and its students, who all were given that same great opportunity to become a Buckeye.”

Ratmir built an amazing company that culminated in a sale to Insight Partners earlier this year. He has stepped down from the Board at Veeam but continues to consult with the company to transition to the new ownership.

On behalf of Veeam – especially our Columbus, Ohio office, customers and partners – we applaud Ratmir and his family for the impact they’re making and the good they are doing.
