Windows Server 2012 R2: Installing the Hyper-V role

Mike Resseler and Maria Levkina continue the series by leading you through hands-on technical demos for managing the Hyper-V role in Windows Server 2012 R2. You install the Hyper-V role to enable the native Microsoft virtualization technology built into Windows Server.

In this video, Mike and Maria provide a detailed overview of Microsoft Hyper-V installation prerequisites and suggest certain technologies and hardware configuration. They demonstrate two different ways to manage the Hyper-V role: the command line and the GUI tool. Mike and Maria also explain how to install the Hyper-V role remotely by using either Windows PowerShell with specific Hyper-V-related cmdlets or the graphical UI of the Server Manager (one of Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) components introduced in Windows Server 2012 and improved on in Windows Server 2012 R2).
