Preparing for Ransomware Starts in a Boardroom, Not the Data Center

Veeam recently published the largest independent ransomware research project of its kind, the 2022 Ransomware Trends Report. While much of that research focused on the pervasiveness of the attack and the technologies used before or after, a few significant learnings came from comparing the views from the four personas that were surveyed:

  • 400 Security Professionals
  • 200 CISO Executives
  • 200 IT Operations
  • 200 Backup Admins

Each of those roles has a unique contribution during both preparation and remediation, as well as prevention and detection. Unsurprisingly, the four roles didn’t always agree as to how well their collaborations were going, nor how prepared their organizations were to remediate from ransomware.

This is the most recent installment in a blog series to hopefully equip you to have new conversations that are fortified by industry data:

This concludes our blog series analyzing the survey results from the 1,000 unbiased organizations who persevered after a cyber-attack; we hope the series was helpful. If you have questions related to the research, please reach out to us at StrategicResearch@veeam.com.
